Number one:

 The impact of English on the economy

   English has becoming the most popular international language in the world. In china, English gives positive influence Chinese economy in many aspects, such as English education business, export business and English entertainment. Firstly, English has gives more work opportunities for graduate, so a lot of people developing the education industry for the increasing number of student who need English for their future education. Secondly, Chinese has becoming the world factory exporting every country in the world, so English is more and more important to improving the export business. Finally, the entertainment of English consequences to people’s life, many website and television channel provide entertainment life for people. In conclusion, the impact of English on the economy has positive for Chinese international business.

Number two:

 E7 oral presentation

  Oral presentation is a showing way for spread information and showing people’s opinion. However, some people are not good at it caused by some reasons, such as, nervous, weak in summarized idea, bad body language and so on. Personally, I like doing presentation, because I am more confident about speaking maybe that due to I infrequently talk with friends and discussing with them. In those practices, it is proving my summarized skill for making a simple sense to friends. In additionally, sometime the talking with 5 or 6 people just likes the surrounding of the presentation, and that gives me more confident to speak in the public. In the other hand, presentation needs academia reference for evidencing the main topic.

So we need more methods to find reference, such as, library website, academia journal and lecture notes. In conclusion, oral presentation is an effective way for information present, so we need this skill for future study and work.

Number three:

Who really needs English?

  With the consequences of globalization, English has become the lingua franca for the communication between different counties. It is said that people in the world needs English. However, not all of people need English, such as some small countries without international business, native area people and some people do not need English for life. On the other hand, I am going to analysis that who are really needs English. Firstly, international business employee needs English for the trade, because the English as a lingua franca contribute for globalization. Secondly, in the education aspect, overseas students, sciences, technology research, all of those need English. In conclusion, English just a language using in the specific area in the world, not every people need English even it is a lingua franca.

WEEK FOUR IN THE END

Final week reflection coming out

This is the final week of E7H. Next week, I will finish whole my English language learning. I am so exciting about that. This week I got my result of my middle essay exam which is not really good. However, I got the feedback and learned my problem which I need prove for the final exam.

As well as I see the exam result comes from 3 aspects. Those are task completion, content and ideas, structure and coherence, language structure and vocabulary. And my problems are that I need focus on completion of main idea of article, attempt at complex structures error evident and distract the reader. Even the result is not good, I am glad I can see my weaknesses before the final exam. so that, I will practice the essay structure, focusing the summery the article and remember more correcting grammar after finish.

In the other part, the essay changes from one article to two articles. That will be harder than the first one exam, which I need improving my rate of reading. And basic on reading article, the essay need more information prepare before the essay exam. Furthermore, I almost finish the oral presentation which has PPT, academic reference from library books and journal. This is time I need 10 minutes and 5 minutes answering questions. So I need prepare for cute cards and practice at home about the time and body language. Finally, I am confidence about the listening, but I also need more practice about hand writing rate and detail information.

Overall, I found my problems and improved. By this journal, I organized my study and thinking and planning my next week study. I will miss this way of study. Maybe I will continue the way of my study even in the university. Hopefully, I will finish this E7H course and going to the marketing study in the RMIT. I am waiting and preparing the exam.

Life like take a train goes to the every station, the next will have more beautiful view.

WEEK THREE

This is my week 3 reflection.

During this week’s study, I improved a lot in the difference apart of English. For example, when I prepare my oral presentation, I need organized my PPT and search the library website in order to find some academic references to support. When I practice listening, I need use more short sign to get the idea of the lecture as soon as possible. When I do the reading, I need analysis the every sentence and think about the possible bias, logic problem, evidence and language of the author used. Then use all of them for my analysis essay.

In addition, we did a middle exam. We spent 2hours to read the article and write down some notes. And then, we spent 90minutes to do the essay. This is my first time 90mintus to do 500 hundred words. I felt very nervous when I spent 30minutes just finished introduction. Thanks god, finally, I finished on time, but I have no time check. So I cannot say it’s good or not. Anyway, this experience is really precious. Because I saw my problem is writing rate too slow, and is not familiar with writing structure. I will practice to improve my hand writing rate, and familiar the structure as well.

Week 3 is the middle of the whole E7; I feel the time is going too fast. There is a final exam waiting for me, or saying that the channel is coming soon. But I feel more energy supporting me move on the way to the final. Right now, I already into the E7, I learned a lot, changed a lot and felt a lot. I am so happy I am improved, which will help me survive in the future university study.

I am waiting, I am doing, and I am changing.

MY WEEK TWO REFLECTION

Today is the final day of week two.

I would like to talk about what I learned and found in this week. I realized the different and difficult, after the first week was familiar with E7.

Overall, E7 is like the university study. We need go to library for our academic reference supporting our oral presentation. We need analysis the article’s argument, evidence, logic, tone or language, and find the opinion to support my idea. We need take notes from the lecture without questions paper and finish questions basic on our notes. Furthermore, we need discuss topic as a group which like brain storm. Those are interesting and troublesome which need me spend more energy on it. In addition, every week’ reflection is help me summery the idea of my course. This is the way more effectively and help me to found my problems.

There are some weak spots I should improve. Firstly, before I just need give my idea generally in my essay, but today I need analysis the idea of different articles. So I need more careful reading the sentence and the words used in the sentence. That is the challenge of my vocabulary which always my problem. I will continue my word book to organize misunderstand words. Secondly, listening without questions is the other challenge of my writing rate. So I need more practice of my rate of taking notes, and learn more short sign which helps me faster and logically.

Finally, I am really enjoying the study because I feel the way in university. And I will continue my way to the success, even the future in the university I can fix all the assignment and presentation by that knowledge and skill which I learned from E7.

MY FIRST WEEK REFLECTION

This is my first reflection about the first week in E7H.

First week I have been told a lot of information which are about E7 different with E6 including essay structure basic on reading, lecture of listening taking notes and Oral presentation. The main idea of E7 is English language. Furthermore, we need writing a reflection every week and publish on our own blog and make a word book for understanding the new words.

All of those from our lovely teachers are Carla who teach from Monday to Wednesday and Sara who teach from Thursday to Friday. I was so freaking out when I first time got those information. I was worried about the 500 words analysis essay and taking notes which are my weak spots. But later Carla gave us a timetable to plan our time to finish those assignments. That made me feels more confident.

However, although teachers will trying their best to teach us effectively and clearly, I think that E7 needs more independent learning on our free time. I made a course goal and strategy. That clearly shows my plan which helps me to improve my English for E7. So, I think I will prepare more filled for my E7 study and my future course of university.

Finally, even E7 has a lot of works and more difficult than E6, I think that if I follow teacher’s course and follow my plan practicing everyday, I will get the results and pass the entire exam.

Success is basic on sweat and practice.

LEON'S GOALS AND STRATEGIES

In this period (18/10-19/11), my main goal is to pass the exams on week 5 and enter into university course successfully .so that, I need to plan my study and work hard according to it to improve my English skills. Here are my each goals and strategies.

LISTENING

TWO GOALS:

Familiar with different pronunciation and understand academic lecture

 STRATEGISES:- Use websites. Understand each sentence, make notes.

- Talk with local people

READING
TWO GOALS:

 Read Fast and Accurate.

 STRATEGISES:

-Read more news on the newspapers and internets.

- Improve my reading speed.

- Familiar with academic texts and journals in my major 
  (communication). - Borrow some special books from school library or state library 

- Do not use dictionary when reading unless the new vocabulary influences my understanding to the whole meaning of the sentence deeply.-Reading my classmates' blog and give them common.

WRITING

 Less grammar errors and more unique opinions

 STRATEGISES: - Reading news: look at the nice sentence and information- keep writing blog
